The Adventures of
Archaeological Doug is a book series about a 13 year old boy named Douglass
and his eight year old sister, Sandy. Both of their parents are archaeology
professors and, on occasion, are allowed to bring their children on business
trips to various dig sites around the world. During their travels, the
brother and sister team often help unearth interesting and unusual artifacts.
Using their imagination, the duo transport themselves back in time to get a
glimpse of how daily life may have existed generations ago. With the help of
local residents, Doug and Sandy gather clues to ultimately figure out the
purpose of the newly found relics. Once the answer is revealed, they return
back to present day life and share what they learned with all the
others. Where Are We Going - In this
first volume, Doug and Sandy are in southern China. They discover a square
shaped artifact and are instantly transported back 2,000 years to the middle
of a small fishing village. With the help of a young girl named Jun, they
slowly find the right people to give them the clues and direction they need
to solve the riddle. In the end, Doug and Sandy use their imagination,
knowledge, sense of humor, and adventurous spirit to discover the mystery of
the object and the culture that surrounds it. There are a few setbacks and
bumps along the way but that never stopped Doug and Sandy before. They are
always up for the challenge. |
